A-HEC: You have set up ScenariosOnline as an entrepreneurial entity to facilitate distribution of Scenarios. How is that model being received? Give us some examples of other institutions that are using Scenarios and how it may have been customized for those needs. SS: The model has been well-received. Colleges have a strong history of collaboration around issues of student learning. This collaboration is especially powerful when we have the ability to adapt and adopt other institutions practices and strategies. In Florida, Teaching in the Learning College is used by adjunct faculty at Miami-Dade, St. Petersburg and Daytona Beach Colleges, plus Manatee, Lake-Sumter, and Hillsborough Community Colleges. Nationally, versions of this course are offered at The Community College of Baltimore County, The University of Minnesota and The University of Cincinnati and offerings will begin this fall in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the North Harris Montgomery Community College District. Many of these institutions have customized course outcomes, syllabi, activities and resources. A partnership with the ILCCO (Illinois Community Colleges Online) Learning Academy in 2004 resulted in a new ScenariosOnline course, Succeeding With Online Group Projects, that has been very popular with faculty moving to hybrid and online courses. In the for-profit sector, adaptations include Teaching in an Art Institute and Teaching and Learning at Argosy University. These courses are required for all new faculty at these EDMC institutions.
