Phase I - Complete the 30-minute online Internet-supported Learning Trends Survey. This survey establishes a baseline set of data for your online initiative. It can be completed by anyone actively involved in a leadership role on the program. Click to take the survey.

Phase 2- (optional) After reading the "Conducting a Self-Audit" report, request a free phone consult to discuss how to best apply this collaborative process internally within your organization. The purpose of this phase is to help you figure out how to conduct your own interanl assessment of your online initiative based on the six success factor areas. In eight pages this report explains how to prioritize and balance your initiatives and support systems. This consult will help you determine how to perform the self-audit.

Phase 3 - (optional) Conduct the internal self audit. If you would like to implement the A-HEC IsL Self-Audit surveys and receive benchmarks versus other participants, please click here and submit the simple application form. Receive your private balanced scorecard benchmark report in PDF format if you take advantage of the A-HEC Self-Audit Surveys. You will receive electronic versions to share with your colleagues in 30 to 60 days after all the surveys are completed. The report looks at and summarizes 110 factors providing information to help you facilitate internal discussion and prioritize your plans.

Phase 4- (optional) Ask A-HEC to conduct an onsite workshop to facilitate the understanding of results and clarification of plans. Workshops can be conducted for faculty, executives, key staff, or all of the above. If you so choose, you can receive a strategic workshop facilitated by Rob Abel and customized to your needs.

The workshops cover best practices from the A-HEC research and facilitation of internal alignment and planning.

Phase 5- (optional) Partake in A-HEC's certification and marketing program. Receive a custom page on A-HEC's web site to publicize your participation to faculty, staff, students, and prospective students. Receive space on A-HEC's web site that is searchable by region, program, and certification level.

Phase 6- (strongly encouraged) Complete a feedback survey on the IsL process. Tell us what the impact of the process has been on your initiative(s) so that it can be improved.
Repeat the process as desired to update your progress. Annual participation in phase 1 above ensures ongoing receipt of quarterly updates.
*PRIVACY POLICY AND DISCLAIMER: Names, email addresses, contact information, or individual responses collected during the survey process will not be shared or distributed in any manner without a prior express written consent from the individual respondent. Institutional, departmental, college, or other operating unit results and benchmark comparisons will not be shared with third parties without an express written consent from an institutional representative. However, study aggregate data and averages and other non-contributory results will be shared in an open annual research report available to the public in performance of A-HEC's non-profit mission.

A-HEC may request explicit permission to publish a profile of an institutional participant in the annual study and would only include a profile if the institution representative grants permission. It is understood by all participants that this work constitutes research with no guarantees as to the accuracy or usefulness of the results. Participation is voluntary.
